Karma3 Labs is building a reputation protocol using the famous EigenTrust algorithm. EigenTrust provides a ranking and reputation system for web3 apps and marketplaces, leveraging on-chain and off-chain data. Some early use cases include personalized recommendation and sybil-resistance systems for web3 social graph protocols, on-chain reputation of communities across DAOs, NFT marketplaces and consumer interfaces.

The founding team raised seed funding in Jan 2023, led by Galaxy Digital and other notable web3 investors and angels. The founding team have experience in building both web3 infrastructure (Ethereum, Harmony, Celo, libp2p) and web2 infrastructure (Google Cloud and PageRank, Facebook platform engineering). The team has started product development for the top web3 applications in the social, wallets and marketplaces categories.

Founding Engineer/Karma3 Labs

Responsibilities

1. Design and implement large-scale distributed systems.

2. Navigate through requirements of web3 reputation use cases.

3. Possess knowledge or exhibit curiosity around any of these: Graph-based algorithms(EigenTrust/PageRank), ZK-based systems to ensure private and verifiable computation, attestation smart contracts, DID and VC infrastructure.

4. Help build a system architecture that serves various classes of use cases, with scale, decentralization and extensibility in mind.

5. Define, collect, and monitor key performance metrics, in order to keep the developed systems highly performant and responsive.

6. Be vigilant about security and correctness of our architecture; identify and quantify security risks and DTRT to mitigate them.

7. Write and maintain technical documentation for external developers and users.

8. Interface with external developer communities to champion our infrastructure and onboard them.

9. Keep abreast of technical developments in web3.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years of engineering large-scale distributed systems, with 2+ years in design/architect/lead role.

2. Past web3 contributions.

3. Design and implementation of public, stable APIs.

4.Two or more of languages: Rust, Golang, TypeScript, Solidity, Python.

5. CI/CD pipelines.

Backend Engineer/Karma3 Labs

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to implement scalable systems that process, store, and serve large data streams. Specific examples include:

1. Writing extensible and secure smart contracts + aware of latest EIPs.

2. Extract and cryptographically authenticate data streams from on-chain and off-chain data sources.

3. Transform the extracted data streams into an optimized storage solution.

4. Develop a scalable indexing service that serves the transformed data for consumption by compute clusters.

5. Implement distributed algorithms that compute recommendation/reputation scores from the transformed data stream.

6. Develop external APIs that serve third-party applications with recommendations and reputation scores.

Qualifications

1. 2+ years experience in backend systems.

2. Experiences with smart contract development

Primary language: Solidity.

3.Two or more languages: Go, Javascript/TypeScript, Python.

4. REST APIs or RPCs.

5. Cloud infra services (AWS, Google Cloud).

6. Open-source project experience preferred.
